Early Years Learning Framework

Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Learning Framework, ‘Being, Belonging and Becoming’ and the National Quality Framework. At Hilltop Childcare we believe that children learn best through play in a safe and stimulating environment. We encourage children to learn, and educators to teach fundamental skills such as walking, talking, identifying letters, words, numbers, colours, shapes and more.

However, learning doesn’t stop there. At Hilltop Childcare, we select only the best resources to provide the best opportunity for your children. We pride ourselves on our higher education curriculum and our passion for learning. Children are assessed individually and given the maximum opportunity to enhance their age-appropriate milestones and expand their strengths and goals.

Our Team of skilled educators work together with you to encourage your child to become inquisitive and exploratory making their world of learning fun, enjoyable and relatable. Our aim is to make sure your child learns how to become responsible for their emotions, their actions and in time, their growth.

School Readiness Program

Throughout our curriculum we embed a scholastic component which focuses on enhancing your child’s academic skills. This is also known as our School Readiness Program.

Getting ready for school requires a strong foundation to assist with the fun journey of learning. We recognise the importance of the Early years learning framework and thus, our programs are planned and guided with the teachings of many theorists that support this belief. We understand that skill development is crucial for the preparation of transitioning to school, and therefore we work closely with children and families by enhancing their social and emotional development, which is needed to be an active and positive learner.

At hilltop childcare, School readiness starts in the nursery room, transitions into the toddler room, and then flourishes in the preschool room. In the final year before school, we aim to ensure that children are given the maximum opportunity to learn new skills and refine existing abilities. All our learning is based on the Early Years Learning Framework, the Australian National Curriculum.

Throughout your journey at Hilltop childcare, our educators will work closely with you and provide you with support to help develop your child’s school readiness skills at home. Going to “Big School” is a milestone for your child and yourself. We work in partnership with your family and with local schools in our communities to assist you and your child with the transition and orientation process.

Extra-Curricular Activities

At Hilltop Childcare we work closely with external companies to further aid your child’s development. One of the companies is Funfit Kidz, and we have carefully designed a set of classes that enable children to gain fitness and accomplish all developmental milestones.

These programs build healthy lifestyle habits for your child as well as contribute to relationship building and teamwork skills. Our aim is to enhance your child’s self-confidence and self-image.
